“I had a total l knee replacement in March and I can't say enough of the excellent care and attention that was given to me by Dr. Porat and Samantha. I went in for my preop visit very nervous but after seeing Samantha she put my fears away. The day of my surgery I saw Dr. Porat and he made me feel good and I was st ease going in. My post op visits the office staff are great. They are very efficient and Dr Porat's assistant she is wonderful I leave a message she follows up and gets back to you. He showed me how the new knee would work and what to expect recovery wise. I had the surgery and was up and walking the same day. I often forget that the left knee is a replacement, I have no pain so when it came time to have the right one done there was no question where and to who I was going. I had the right one done, seven weeks after surgery I am back to work and even going to the gym. I tell all of my friends with knee issues to call Dr. Porat.”

“Had right knee replacement--I was scared to death prior to surgery as I had never had any major surgery in my 58 years of life. Dr. Porat took a lot of time with my husband and I at the first visit to explain everything in detail and assure me that I would be fine. From there the Nurse Navigator Joan McBride, the training materials, classes, and all of the other staff I dealt with was first class--they were kind, caring and explained everything in detail. Dr. Porat's assistant Crishelle is outstanding at getting back to you and helping with whatever my needs have been. My new knee is very flexible and pain-free. I will be doing the other knee this coming October and this time I am looking forward to having the same type of care and results! My new knee has been the best thing I have done in a long time. “In 2021, Dr. Porat replaced my left hip, and this year he replaced my right knee. My knee was replaced in March. My hip replacement was an easier recovery than my knee. Dr. Porat explained everything thoroughly before both procedures. Dr. Porat told me that a knee replacement is different than a hip replacement because a knee replacement has a longer recovery, and the discomfort is more intense. He made me aware of everything and let me make the final decision. I’m so happy I decided to get it replaced. Before the surgery, my knee was facing out to the right, my leg was bowed, and walking was difficult because I would swing my leg out. Now my leg is straight, and I walk properly. Thank you, Dr. Porat.”

“At first I was quit nervous about having my bad knee replaced. It was so damaged by infection that I was living on Percocet's for the pain. Dr. Porat gave me a few choices, first one amputation, "no way" Second take out bad medal pieces and install anti biotic block for 6-8 weeks and then go back and install another apparatus. "no way" After second visit my family and I settled on option 3 Go in clean out every thing with anti biotic ,install what we call a door latch apparatus and go on 2 months of antibiotic at a rehab facility and go on oral antibiotic for my life time. Was walking the day after surgery and doing fine ,till I went for my second visit, getting into the car I tore my patella tendon so I wound up in a full leg brace. Hopefully I will be able to walk with a cane but I believe this will be a long way down the road. Dr. Porat gave me the option of going back in and trying to fix the tendon, But after all the damage my leg had ( a 4 1/2 hour operation ) We are hoping scar disuse will strengthen the tendon. I went to see other Ortho doctors before I saw Dr. Porat, not one of them wanted to take my case. And they were at big name orthopedics company's. I can not say enough about Dr. Porat for his bed side manner, his wisdom of orthopedics and just being a nice man.”

From the beginning before your surgery to the end you are well informed of what to expect and what you need to do before your surgery and through your healing process. You have a nurse navigator assigned to you and they set up all your appointments for you. They also provide you with an online sight that you have updates from your doctor in what you need to do, what to expect, it is awesome. This shows you how you should be with your healing process. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole process, the practice, doctor, staff. Everything is so convenient all in same building, from pre testing, to classes, surgery overnight stay and physical therapy. How convenient is that! The doctor, anesthesiologist, nurse's, and doctor assistance are all awesome! I am just so thankful that I was highly recommended to the practice and so very happy that I listened! My knee replacement surgery went well, healing going very well, actually a little ahead of time. Dr. Manny Porat is awesome a great surgeon.”
