“I went to the Bone and Join Center for a second opinion. Checked into the Bone and Joint Center in the Malta, NY location. I was thoroughly surprised that I saw a doctor on first visit. Dr. Phelan gave me a thorough consultation on my condition. Dr. Phelan was glad I had brought the photo images of surgery before and after my initial surgery. He thoroughly explained the photos. Dr. Phelan gave some medical advice and I took it under advisement. His advice did alleviate the condition. The follow up visit went well too. He addressed the situation and left it up to me to contact their office should I have more problems. Overall, very caring, great listening and expert care. I would highly recommend the Bone and Joint Center to anyone on a first visit or needing a second opinion.”

“Sustained an injury to my shoulder - ER recommended I see an orthopedic doctor - went to Dr. Phelan for that - during the follow-up visit I mentioned a hip issue - Dr. Phelan had me x-rayed on the spot, and explained the results immediately, giving me options for treatment. Am currently undergoing physical therapy - he said if it didn't work I should come back. So far there is improvement, but not yet 100%. I truly appreciate Dr. Phelan's immediate response to this second issue, and follow up within minutes. If I ever need an orthopedic surgeon again, I will surely come back to Dr. Phelan. Thank you!”

I trust his judgment and diagnosis more than anything because he really is the best orthopedic surgeon I’ve had. He’s up to date on current practices and procedures, and he explains everything in a clear manner. “It seems I've been to The Bone and Joint Center an awful lot these past two months. I was not looking forward to today's appointment as I was prepared to receive news that would not fit well with my schedule (visiting kids in Colorado). Dr. Phelan came into the exam room, first time I had ever met with him and asked a lot of questions; was not in a hurry or if he was, did not appear so. Wanted to know how everything started with my knee, did a thorough exam and listened to and answered all of my questions. He did give me good news, no arthroscopy and explained what to do to help with my knee. Overall, I was happy with the outcome; very very satisfied with my encounter with Dr. Phelan and would not hesitate to see him again if or when my knee issues return. I have never had a bad experience with The Bone and Joint Center. Although I hope I do not have to return anytime soon, if I have any bone or joint issues, this is where I will go.”

“I was in a bad auto accident in April. I was in ICU at AMC. I saw several of your doctors but the line above would only let me list one. I also saw Dr. Bagchi and I saw another one but can not remember his name. Previous to this I had both knees replaced by Dr. Hospodar. I have nothing but praise for all these doctors and your medical group. I have been treated with respect by your doctor's and your staff. Casey really does a wonderful job. When there was a problem I was seen immediately. When I had to cancel surgery on the knee because I developed an infection in my thumb 2 days before surgery. I called and left a message. I did not hear back and was beginning to wonder what was going on. Casey called me back and had rescheduled everything for me. That was why I did not hear right away because she was arranging everything. I would recommend your group to any one. You certainly get a 5+ rating from me. I would not be walking if it wasn't for Dr. Phelan and Dr. Bagchi and Dr. Hospodar. I cannot thank them enough! Keep up the good work! You folks are wonderful.”
