“I had had pain in my knee for a couple of weeks, and went to Sports Medicine on the advice of my GP. After a couple of xrays and a very simple exam, it was determined that I had water on the knee. It was easily and painlessly extricated and I virtually, skipped out of the office. Dr. Mattheos explained the whole procedure and was very helpful with the evaluation. Overall, I would recommend this group to anyone! Thank you!”

“Dr. Mattheos was supportive and reassuring leading up to my surgery, but also clear about the pain and the obstacles that I would experience, including the length of time that it would take for full rehabilitation.
He told me that the damage to my rotator cuff was quite severe, and explained the MRI photographs to me, so I am grateful that he was able to correct the damage that was done arthroscopically, without an overnight stay at the hospital. I am glad to be able to use my arm fully again, and hope to do so for a few more decades!
He called me at home the evening I returned home from the surgery to check on my comfort level and to remind me that when the nerve blocker wore off that I should have medication in my system to ease the pain.
Dr. Mattheos was the cheerleader I needed, during six months of physical therapy, reassuring me that I was recuperating at an expected--or even better than
expected--rate, and that I needed to be patient about the amount of time it would take to return to my former range of motion.
I would happily recommend Dr. Mattheos to anyone needing orthopedic surgery.”

“I had a successful experience with Dr. Mattheos years ago for a right shoulder re-build. I chose Sports Medicine North & Dr. Mattheos for my right knee total replacement. Surgery was performed recently at Anna Jaques Hospital, and I could not be more pleased with the results. At 5-1/2 weeks I am having therapy at Physical Therapy North in Newburyport and have progressed to be fully mobile to the point of being able to ride my bicycle for 1 mile plus stretches without experiencing excruciating pain. I cannot say enough about the staff and professionals at Sports Medicine North & Physical Therapy North personnel. I have also returned to work and climb 16 stairs multiple times a day in carrying out my duties, without issue. I am forever thankful for the attention paid to my condition by all involved. Sports Medicine North has taken care of any concerns I have had during this experience.”
