“This practice is a Godsend! My son in law recommended I get a second opinion with them after being treated at Rothman for almost 2 years with no success. Dr. Holmes immediately addressed the issue and knew what to do. Had minor procedure done as outpatient and I haven't felt this great or been able to walk this well in 2 years. Dr. Holmes took the time to explain the procedure and what the expectations would be after surgery. He is never rushed when he speaks with you. “I wanted to share my story and how pleased I am with Dr. Nathan Holmes. After giving birth to my second child, I developed bursitis in my left hip, similar to after my first pregnancy. However, symptoms quickly became extremely painful and over the months and years spread to other areas. I had excruciating pain in my left hip, down my entire left leg (IT band) and into my left knee (where the IT band connects to the knee). My piriformis muscles were also in a lot of pain. I was with another Orthopedic practice for over two years and tried cortisone shots, steroid & NSAID medications and three rounds of physical therapy (for months at a time each series). As a 34-year-old mom with two young daughters (ages 4 & 2), I thought I would never live a healthy life again. I couldn't work out at the gym and jog or do a spin class without being in pain. I was in pain 24 hours a day, even while trying to sleep. I couldn't even sit on the carpet to play with my kids because it would hurt to sit on the floor.
My young kids even knew all of my physical therapy exercises and would do them with me and worry about my leg. Well, I could not be happier. I decided to go for a second opinion with Reconstructive Orthopedics and was referred over to Dr. Holmes. Dr. Holmes was able to immediately diagnose my problem and provide me with the diagnosis of Tendonosis of my left hip. It was such a relief after 2.5 years to have a real diagnosis. Dr. Holmes suggested a non-invasive surgery on my left hip called "Tenotomy of the left hip " using the Tenex procedure. I immediately started to feel relief in my knee just a few hours after surgery. Two months later I have made a full recovery with no pain in my hip, IT, band or knee! I can work out usually and do not have to go through physical therapy anymore! I am so thankful to Dr. Holmes for changing my life. He was an excellent doctor with a great personality and showed compassion to me on my day of surgery and throughout the whole process. If you have any similar pain as I have had, I highly recommend you schedule an appointment to see Dr. Holmes. The new Tenex procedure has changed my whole life!”
