“Had a hip pain issue. Dr. Fuchs had an X-Ray taken, determined it was only inflammation, and gave me a cortisone shot that he delivered almost painlessly. He was very thorough, explained the issue completely, kept me calm about the shot both before and during, and was very kind. This is not my first time being treated by Dr. Fuchs; I've had identical experiences with him each time, especially with my knee operation. I have total faith in Dr. Fuchs.

“I needed both knees replaced, but I was only 52, and more importantly, I have a blood disorder that causes me to bleed or clot too quickly and have severe chronic venous insufficiency in one leg. Most doctors, I am sure, would not have touched me with a ten foot pole, but Dr. Fuchs took a chance on me. The surgeries were six months apart with my “bad leg” coming second. The first surgery went very smoothly. The second was a challenge both for Dr. Fuchs and for me, with scar tissue, internal bleeding, etc. He stuck with me and we got through it. Since then I have been able to walk 2-4 miles a day, ride a bike, travel, and all the other things I used to enjoy, and have been pain-free. I had an opportunity to have a follow-up visit with Dr. Fuchs this past summer (15 years after the surgeries). The knees are holding up beautifully, and he said if I don’t get into skydiving, the knees will outlast me. We hugged and I again thanked him for literally giving me my life back. He is a fabulous surgeon and a wonderful human being.”

“I had both hips replaced by Dr. Fuchs throughout six years. The first hip was the game changer for me, as I was to the point where it was getting challenging to perform simple functions of everyday life due to the immobility related to my arthritic hip joints. Just putting on my socks and shoes was a struggle and I had to plan out every move ahead of time to consider the difficulty and determine if I could perform it without falling. Having played ice hockey and been an active downhill skier for years, it was difficult to have to put those activities behind. As my condition progressed, however, the reality of life and the twist and turned that it takes makes me very appreciative that I live in a time and place where medical advances such as total hip replacement surgery allow patients like myself the opportunity to live a relatively normal life after surgery. I have heard Dr. Fuchs suggestions and put the skates up on the shelf and hung the skis on the wall but stay active by walking daily and swimming when I can. I don't climb trees anymore, but I can at least enjoy a long walk in the forest without the fear of how or when I might get out. At times I push myself a bit too far and have to take a moment to remind myself that I must preserve the gift that modern medicine and a skilled physician has afforded me and take stock that I have many more years in which to participate in this journey through life as an upright walking individual. I am forever thankful for the gifts that I have been given and have encouraged others in my similar situation to get the baseline x-rays and consult with an orthopedic physician when I see them struggling as I did.”

“I saw Dr. Fuchs for a total hip replacement, and he truly did a 5 STAR job. I had actually first seen him 2+yrs ago, and he diagnosed the condition and said when it hurt "enough" to come back. So I did. I may have pushed it off a little, but he scheduled me right in, and the instant I woke up from the operation there was no pain. My recovery has been right on schedule with no complications. I have also recommended him to 2 friends who will need it soon, and I will probably need my other hip done in a few years. As an aside our family has used other Drs. in your group including Dr. Alley and he has always provided the same exceptional service and advice.”
